Sunny vibes!
lemon.jpg

When I was in Primary school I had a friend named Camilla. Her bigger sister was my style idol, and I will never forget a summer-day she was whisked away to a party wearing a yellow dress that complimented her sun-kissed skin amazingly well. My 2020’s version of the dress is from Victoria Beckham . Here are some of my favorites for the sun drenched days ahead!

  1. Drinking lemon juice with warm water every morning helps in maintaining the pH balance of the body. Lemons are rich source of vitamin C, and lemon juice protects the body from Immune system deficiencies. With its powerful antibacterial properties, lemon juice helps fight infections.

  2. White denim dress from Zara. So easy, casual and still elegant!

  3. Louis Vuitton cosmetic pouch. I find there is something wonderfully decadent in combining every day activities with luxury products.

  4. Summer makes me want to wear gold jewelry. I find anklets so sexy. Anklet from Ancient Greek Sandals.

  5. Lemon yellow dream dress from Victoria Beckham. I wish I has a summer wedding to attend! This dress can be worn at a formal event with high heels and stylish accessorizes. It can also be worn more casual with a jeans jacket over your shoulders and flats.

  6. Sandals from Alexandre Birman.

  7. When both The Oprah Magazine and Reese Witherspoon’s book club names this one of the Best Beach Reads of Summer 2020 it must be good!

  8. The CLASSIC Marysia Mott Maillot, a halter neck one-piece, with a plunging back.

  9. Do you dare? In love with this incredibly sexy body chain from BeGoldish. Just add a tan!

  10. Since your not sun tanning your face, and you keep using SPF 50, it needs some help to get a healthy glow. Tan Luxe The Face Self-Tan Drops.

  11. AERIN x Blazé Milano blazer. Ultimate summer business chic!

Spring & summer wardrobe essentials
spring summer.png

In my part of the world days are getting warmer and I am dreaming of summer days at the beach. These are some of my wardrobe essentials that most likely will not go out of fashion anytime soon.

  1. The waisted denim jacket. Perfect to throw over your summer dress or even over your lbd to make it more casual when you need to. Works with any type of pants too.

    This one is from Lee.

  2. A tanned tote. Although I love black totes, they don’t work well with lighter, summer garments. Invest in a tanned or brown tote. You won’t regret.

    This one is from Loewe.

  3. The shirt dress. So versatile, you can use it over a bikini and at the office. What’s not to like?

This one is from Gina Tricot.

  4. A pair of luxe sandals. These will elevate any casual summer look (rubber flip flops are for the beach. Only.).

These ones are from the fabulous Christina Fragista, all her sandals are handmade in Greece!

  5. This wonder of a product is an after-sun lotion that immediately soothes and intensely heals the skin while extending your tan. You can thank me later.

    From Sisley.

  6. White jeans, cut above the ankle. This one is my favorite jeans brand Frame.

  7. A flowy, comfortable yet sexy dress. If you happen to visit Bali, Daun & Co is where I bought this dress. Kalita (www.kalita.co.uk) have similar styles.

  8. A light grey, v-neck, over-sized t-shirt. I love this color with sun kissed skin and gold jewelry.

    From American Vintage.

  9. The wear-to-death canvas shoe. Make it classic with Superga. Did you know Princess Diana used to wear them? Now the Duchess of Cambridge does too.

How to shop the online sales (men´s edition)

The sale is still on and here´s how to get the most value for your money. The sale, perhaps boringly, is the perfect opportunity to stock up on essentials. A big sale means that the luxurious versions of some of the most quotidian items are now within reach.

FEED YOUR SNEAKER COLLECTION

The all white sneaker is timeless and very versatile. I love to see sneakers dressed up with either a suit or dressy clothes. There is just something about doing this, that sets you apart from everyone else. In order to do this properly, you need to have the right mindset, athletic trainers with a black suit can look great, so roll with it, but make sure your sneakers are clean!

UPGRADE YOUR ACCESSORIES

Stocking up on basic accessories (scarves, sunglasses, pocket squares etc.) might be a tedious task, but it’s worth your while. After all, these are the cherry on top for any outfit.

BAG A BAG

Like I have pointed out before, if you are no longer in school the backpack is not an option (unless you are going camping that is). It´s time to invest in a proper, timeless briefcase and a classic weekender that won´t cramp your style.

STOCK UP FOR SUMMER

Before you know it, you'll be enjoying summer temperatures and sipping cocktails in the sun. Be prepared.

Crack the dress code - business casual/ casual Friday (men’s edition)

To nail the right level of casual for your business, look at the everyday dress code. For most companies, business casual is as simple as WITH OR WITHOUT a blazer/ jacket. If you work in a company that usually requires a suit and tie, you should without a doubt choose the “with blazer”. Do let me know if you want me to help you with the shopping.

Here’s what you need to invest in:

denim shirt.jpg

Simply change your normal shirt with a denim one (not the baggy type). A casual, super stylish outfit in a flash!

BUS CAS 2.png

No, you can not use your suit jacket. You need to invest in something different. More texture, perhaps a lighter shade of navy blue than your normal suit, so we can see you are indeed not using your suit (the lighter color, the more casual). Choose a “patch” instead of a “flap” pocket, preferably also with contrasting-colored buttons.

PANTS.png
  1. Flannel. Be careful of materials that are too thin or shiny. Something with a bit more texture, looking less suit-ish, will look much better with casual pieces and materials as denim.

  2. Dark jeans. Straight/ slim cut, mid rise.

  3. Between flannel and jeans you’ll find the chino. Choose a slim model to avoid the “American tourist-look”. For color, my suggestion is navy and dark green.

I "You Are What You Wear: What Your Clothes Reveal About You" forklarer hun hvordan psykologi bestemmer måten du kler deg på og kan avsløre dine psykologiske hovedproblemer (!).

Victoria Beckham SS 2020

“For me it’s about that woman really feeling confident and sensual in her clothes” VB says and I love it. I love how she has reinvented herself from Spice Girl to a respected designer and businesswoman. Below are my absolute favourites from her SS 2020 collection.

Classic, with a twist

This look from JCrew is spot on! The mix of elegant and casual, formal and cool is everything. This corduroy skirt will make your shirt look much cooler, and by shying away from the classic pencil skirt you’ll avoid the waitress look! For more casual occasions, style with a denim shirt as in the picture. Adding bling earrings keeps it even more interesting. Love!

What to wear to work

That dress
